"My brother has the brain of a scientist or a philosopher, yet he elects to be a detective. What might we deduce about his heart?"
"I don’t know."
"Neither do I. But initially, he wanted to be a pirate."
Whoops I was trying to draw one thing and I ended up drawing a little pirate Sherlock whoops whoops whoops
where did you even get such a ridiculous coat Sherlock

So I started getting kind of into Ao no Exorcist but I keep forgetting to watch the last third of the anime and get started on the manga but I like what I’ve seen so yeah it’s good.
Anyway, I drew a terrible Rin in red ballpoint pen in my littler sketchbook sometime last week. I think I’m getting a little better at expressions, by which I mean I’m slowly grasping the concept that skin on people’s faces actually moves when they make expressions, not just their mouths and eyebrows.
why did I buy a sketchbook that I cannot scan things from

Kind of a natural follow-up to this.
It’s a sign of a perfectly happy, healthy friendship for the parties involved to draw themselves beating the shit out of one another. In Sherlock garb.
(I know the quote’s slightly off, but I didn’t think to look it up and it’s longer when it’s correct so it wouldn’t even fit anyway leave me alone)

Months ago, I was commissioned by my friend to draw her character, Jack, as he is for a roleplay we’re doing.
I took four months to do the flat color, then promptly forget about it entirely. Thankfully, she has yet to pay me.
I found the file again, and in a pique of curiosity, threw together a quick sketch. Sadly, I think that looks better than the semi-final product on the left.
In any case, I’ll probably scrap everything and redo it, since I think I’ve gotten better since I started. Probably will not use the dramatic sketch here, though.

Hey Aeron, look at what I found while I was going through my notebook.
(An inside joke. Essentially, weather in Washington is unpredictable. I eventually took to carrying both my umbrella and my sunglasses while in Tacoma and would sometimes need both in the same day.
This guy eventually got an entire story dedicated to him. Everyone mocked him because he was too well-prepared. I wish I’d kept the text conversation that spawned that.)

In which I’ve been kidnapped by a certain derpy commander, and I try to draw Sherlock without reference and then post the results with only my phone.

why do people let me near ballpoint pens or non-photo pencils
